RASHTRIYA SWASTH BIMA YOJNA
The hospital was empanelled for treatment of BPL families holding the Rashtriya Bima Card (National Health Insurance). A large number of patients were treated by the hospital at very subsidized rates under the scheme. About 800 patients were treated or operated under the scheme every year.
Non-Scalpel Vasectomy & FEMALE STERILIZATION
In a project sponsored by USAID & Engender Health, the Hospital embarked on a project for encouraging male sterilization. From zero male sterilization in the district, the hospital could perform about 748 male sterilizations & in 2011-12. The Hospital is also involved in female sterilization and performs about 600/700 female tubectomies every year.
SAMBHAV VOUCHER SCHEME
The hospital was part of an experimental Sambhav Voucher Scheme run by Sifpsa to bring down infant and maternal mortality. Family Planning services were provided to under privileged sections of society & they were encouraged for institutional delivery, Caesarian section, ANC & PNC. The patients were encouraged to exercise informed choices for family planning measures.
SIFPSA DAI TRAINING
To combat infant mortality and maternal mortality, USAID sponsored SIFPSA to train 3312 traditional birth attendants in remote villages so that a semblance of hygienic delivery conditions are followed in these villages. SIFPSA chose our hospital to impart this training in three districts, which was done successfully.
Under a project sponsored by WHO & Global Cancer Concern, the hospital 5 lac women for Cancer Cervix by holding screening camps in Kanpur Nagar, Where ever there was suspicion of malignancy, a PAP Smear was done. A total of 18000 PAP Smear tests were Performed & awareness created.
