training  DNB (Ophthalmology)

Duration – 3 years (after MBBS), 2 years (after MS, DOMS)


The DNB candidates are provided the necessary training and guidance as per the guidelines provided by the National Board of Examinations. The DNB candidates undergo a rigorous full time training in complete management of ophthalmological diseases. The exact course guidelines, syllabus, admission details can be had from the National Board of Examinations website.


training  Comprehensive Eye-Examination Observership

Duration – 3 months

Clinical Diagnostics


Students are trained in the use of the slit lamp, biomicroscopy, keratometry, pachymetry, A-B scan ultrasonography, tear film function tests, intra-ocular pressure measurement, indirect ophthalmoscope, direct ophthalmoscope, slit lamp use for retina examination and biometry.


Laboratory Diagnostics


Students are trained in the use of the slit lamp, biomicroscopy, keratometry, pachymetry, A-B scan ultrasonography, tear film function tests, intra-ocular pressure measurement, indirect ophthalmoscope, direct ophthalmoscope, slit lamp use for retina examination and biometry.


Microbiology: Smear preparation, culture methodology and interpretation of various corneal infections including bacterial, fungal, viral and parasitic.

Pathology: Preparation and interpretation of specimens from various corneal pathologies including scars, edema, dystrophies, infections, degenerations, etc.

Medical Treatment Strategies


Corneal infections, corneal immunological disorders, dry eye and ocular surface disorders, degenerations and dystrophies, cataract surgeries, complications of cataract surgery, retinal diseases and medical management, glaucoma, paediatric eye diseases.


Microsurgical Techniques


Small incision cataract surgeries, extracapsular cataract extraction, phacoemulsification, surgery for congenital cataract, minor procedures like chalazion, syringing, foreign body removals etc.


The Course Module Also Provides


  • Training in understanding of FFA and other diagnostic procedures.
  • Nd - YAG capsulotomy.
  • Training in contact lens
  • Training in pre-op evaluation of cataract patients.
  • Post-op management of cataract surgery patients (including any complications)


During the course, the students are initially given the chance to observe and understand the various procedures. They are provided ample number of cases and consultants are ready to solve any queries they might have. After a few days they can start assisting and doing their own cases.



training  Phacoemulsification Course

Duration – 1 month

During this course, the students are initially given the chance to observe and understand Phacoemulsification procedure. They are provided a minimum number of 70 surgical cases. Training for pre-operative assessment and post-operative treatment is provided in this course.


training  SICS, ECCE Training Course

Duration – 1 month

During this course, the students are initially given the chance to observe and understand surgical procedures for cataract extraction and lens implantation. They are provided a minimum number of 70 surgical cases. Training for pre-operative assessment and post-operative treatment is provided in this course.


training  Phacoemulsification Refresher Course

Duration – 2 weeks

During this course, the students are initially given the chance to observe and understand Phacoemulsification procedure. They are provided a minimum number of 30 surgical cases.


For all medical courses (excluding DNB courses), accommodation will be provided in the hospital campus itself.

training  Diploma in Optometry


Duration – 2 Years

Oprometrists and Retractionists play a very significant role in managing a poorly sighted or partially sighted patient.


The Diploma in optometry is started with a view to train professional in the art art of refraction & optometry. The students after attaining the diploma from State Medical Faculty will be eligible for following services.

  • Can set up optical frames and optical lenses factory

Qualified candidate from the institution will have to get themselves registered with the State Medical Faculty, Uttar Pradesh.

training  Diploma in O.T. Technician


Duration – 2 Years

A person completing the course of Diploma in operation Theatre technician course will be able to demonstrate skills required in the provision of health care. An operation theatre technician will be able to work with the whole team in operation room i.e. the surgeon and other operation theatre staff. He / she will be required to manage whole of the operation theatre and look after all the needs during & after the operation. This includes disinfection & sterilization of operation theatre, instruments, linen, keeping of records of patients care of pre & post operative cases, care of specimens etc. He / she will also be required to assist the surgeon during operation.


training  Diploma in Physiotherapy


Duration – 2 Years

Physiotherapy is a science to improve and correct physical disabilities due to neural defects, debilitating diseases or
congenital defects of human body.


These disabilities lead to restriction of normal functions of human body thus reduce or incapacitate the individual to
carry out his or her normal life.


It has been estimated that about 25 lac people are neurologically, physically disabled or handicapped in the state of Uttar Pradesh.


The Afflictions are making them unable to earn their own livelihood and they have become a burden on society & their families.


Some of these disabilities can be corrected or improved with physiotherapy and can open up new vistas of a happy active life.


Our eneavour is to train young people in the Science of Physiotherapy, so as to improve the quality of life of the suffering.



Admissions

Admissions are open to paramedical courses from April-August of every year. Classes start from September.

Accommodation will be provided in the hospital campus itself (in a hostel meant for ladies only) for all the female students in the paramedical courses if required.
